EU Citizen Registration (Yellow Slip / MEU1)
The registration certificate EU, EEA and Swiss citizens need to reside in Cyprus beyond 90 days.

As an EU citizen you have the right to live and work in Cyprus, and you have it from day one. The Yellow Slip does not grant that right — it registers it. People misunderstand this constantly and delay registering because they think they are already working legally without it. They are. Registration is still a legal obligation, and failing to register carries a financial penalty.
The certificate does not expire and never needs renewing, which makes it one of the few pieces of Cyprus paperwork you deal with once.
What decides how smoothly it goes is the basis you register under — employed, self-employed, student, or self-sufficient. Each requires different evidence, and bringing evidence that supports a different basis than the form claims is the usual reason for being sent away.
